press release - mckinley|resource to provide job search support for newly unemployed professionals

01.04.09

2nd April 2009

As part of the Government’s response to the economic downturn, the Department for Work and Pensions has appointed mckinley|resource as an approved organisation to deliver specialist job search support for Jobseekers Allowance customers from professional and executive occupational backgrounds. The scheme, which will go live on 6th April 2009, will train professionals and executives on modern job hunting skills and give advice on how to transfer or update their skills to secure relevant jobs.
Martin Dangerfield of mckinley|resource – an innovative recruitment consultancy that is redefining how businesses attract talented individuals was keen to announce mckinley resource’s participation in the Scheme.

“This new DWP scheme will go live on April 6th and I am very pleased that we have been included in the first phase. The business climate is challenging and it is crucial that we give people the skills to get back into work as quickly as possible. Supporting the professional community fits well with our reputation for delivering professional recruitment services into this sector.”

mckinley|resource will deliver intensive support to update candidates on modern job search techniques and recruitment channels using their industry knowledge of candidates with a professional background, reflecting that such candidates are not a homogenous group and ensuring that each participant receives the individual support needed.

Dangerfield added “We have an outline of how the workshops are going to look, making sure we cover everything an individual will need from reviewing skills and CV content through to practical aspects of looking for work on and off line. The key deliverable will be a personal action plan that will be tailored to the individual’s needs.”

Eligible customers will principally be professional and executive jobseekers - as determined by Jobcentre Plus Advisers - in receipt of JSA with no recent experience of job search and only requiring short, intensive, job search instruction and support. People of similar occupational background under notice of redundancy or yet to claim Jobseekers Allowance and who are engaged through the Rapid Response Service (RRS) will also be able to access this service.
